(NYSE: V) announced today that the underwriters of its initial public offering exercised their over-allotment option to purchase an additional 40,600,000 shares of its Class A common stock at $44.00 per share. The option was granted in connection with the company's initial public offering of 406,000,000 shares of its Class A common stock, which priced on March 18, 2008. Visa expects net proceeds from the offering, including the exercise of the over-allotment option, after deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and estimated offering expenses, to be approximately $19.1 billion.
